Standing on the Shoulders of Giants

This resource links the work of 10 famous scientists to the work of contemporary scientists giving children an appreciation of how wider scientific understanding develops over time.

• Through practical investigations, based on the work of a historic figure, children are encouraged to generate their own questions to explore and develop further.

• The book outlines the learning objectives, resources required and a practical activity to carry out with the children. Extension activities, vocabulary and focus questions are also included. There is also an overview of opportunities for cross-curricular links.

• Developed by the Primary Science Teaching Trust (PSTT) a charitable trust helping to improve the teaching and learning of primary science across the UK.
