The checkout with card reader, goods separator and pretend conveyor belt support recognisable shopping scenarios. A small refrigerator and shelf compartments provide spaces to display and organise food, drinks and shopping goods.
It supports EYFS communication and language aims through shared shopping scenarios. Children can take different roles, practise turn taking, respond to others and extend their own narratives. Practitioners can use the chalkboard for vocabulary development activities, including writing prices or deals during pretend shop play.
