Develop scientific literacy and understanding through group discussion. Created by teachers, this resource contains over 40 beautifully illustrated picture cards and language prompts to facilitate discussion.

• Activities include sequencing, grouping and classifying, using scientific vocabulary, justifying new ideas and challenging the ideas of others.

• Includes a guide to support teachers in confidently leading discussion, as well as picture cards focusing on topics which include floating and sinking, plants and animals, hot and cold and sound. Working in small groups, children develop the skills to; support their ideas with evidence, learn effectively through group talk, make confident challenges to the ideas of others, change their minds on the basis of new evidence, explore scientific concepts and develop deeper understanding.
