Eco Loose Parts Construction Set

A beautifully crafted and aesthetic collection of eco materials for children to be creative and imaginative with whilst exploring, positioning, investigating and leading their own unique play and following their interests.

• A bumper array of truly open-ended elements which children will incorporate into their learning in so many different ways. Loose parts play can intertwine with early STEAM based learning as it integrates an array of skills.

• Children can explore symbolic play as they construct and balance, others will roll and stack. For some, the shapes take on a whole new meaning. Will the cylinder become a telescope for pirates or a rolling pin for a chef? What inventions will be created? Will it be a machine or for time travel? It can be whatever they imagine. There are no fixed outcomes. The pieces are great for transient art and creative opportunities. Think of the patterns, the shapes and pictures that can emerge from this exploratory play approach. Children can learn about shape, space and properties.

• Children’s schematic interests may be aligned with making lines and enclosed areas, transporting and building. The cylinders are made from wood pulp and have a smooth, appealing texture. There are wooden discs and wooden boards in two shapes made from sustainable bamboo.

• Imagine the light and shadow effects you could achieve with our projector. It could be a monster, a skyline or alternating patterns that create an awe and wonder investigative scenario.

• For many children, the opportunity to sort the pieces and then to carefully position them into all kinds of designs is a really calming and focussed activity. They can become absorbed in the play as they are the architect of their design.

• Use alongside tinker trays and other accessories and as the children carefully select the pebbles, jewels, leaves etc. they can enrich it to make a fascinating and detailed creation.

• Sometimes giving children simple, quality open-ended material brings the most creative and engaging learning opportunities. We have tried to provide this and with materials that are not damaging to the planet.
